68th Independence Day with Origins Pakistan and Latitude PR

14th August has always been a special festive occasion for us. It is not just an Independence Day but its more like a 3rd Eid to Pakistani’s.
This year I have witnessed another level of enthusiasm and excitement in our people and in our fashion industry too. Almost every designer came up with their #azaadicollection, with complete patriotic prints and colors. And it was not just with the designers, dolmen mall celebrated independence with a 4 day sale and almost every brand followed and offered a great sale..

It was Thursday 13, August 2015 and was the first day of the grand sale. I went to shopping with my friend at Dolmen Mall, Clifton and ended up buying one unstiched 2 piece suit from Ethnic, Outfitters. Though the sale and stuff was amazing everywhere but I just stopped myself with one suit :D..

Ok, so on my way back to home I saw many bloggers uploading their Independence Day gift by Origins Pakistan and I was so impressed by the gesture and all I could think that I might have a parcel waiting for me. And yes, it was waiting for me :D. Thank GOD I was at my mum’s place because all my parcels still comes at my mum’s address and I was there to actually enjoy the moment of receiving gift from the brand.

The packaging was awesome and I saw its not just one package there were actually two. One was from Origins Pakistan and the other was from Nestle Pakistan and both were via Latitude PR. I have already shared pictures on my Instagram and Snapchat (nidabblogger) too but still this post was HAVE TO. Everyone knows if I am happy with a brand or product I always write a post 🙂

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer- Brightener

Ever since Maybelline launched their age rewind concealer I wanted to try them badly. And since they are not launched yet in Pakistan I had to wait till a facebook page stocks them. In my previous post I mentioned that how obsessed I am getting with contouring and highlighting. This is my 3rd concealer in a month 😀

About the Product

Active Formula and Micro-Corrector Applicator erase dark circles, puffiness and fine lines instantly.

Why You’ll Love It

• Micro-Corrector Applicator micro-fills and smoothes.
• Active formula with Haloxyl reduces the look of puffiness and shadows while fading the appearance of under-eye circles.
• Apply neutralizer shade for extreme dark circles.
• Brightener shade adds a luminous touch.

For Best Results

Use applicator to apply concealer directly to under-eye area, blending in an outward motion.  Wipe off excess eye concealer with dry tissue only.  Do not wet applicator.

My View

The age rewind concealer comes in 6 neutralizing shades (Fair, Light, Medium, Honey, Neutralizer, Brightener 160).
I wanted to have something to brighten up my undereye so I went for shade Brightener. I think I still need to have shades light and medium. I absolutely LOVED it and want to try other shades too. They are super full coverage formula which is super easy to blend.

The product comes with a sponge applicator in a twisted packaging. You have to twist the bottom several times in start and then with every twist product comes out on the sponge. I have seen YouTubers applying it with brush but I apply directly with its sponge and blend it with my fingers.

Since I got the shade Brightener, it has a pinkish touch and that’s why I like to mix it with my other concealers. And the best it worked with my Nars Creamy Concealer in shade Custard. I still have to try it with Maybelline Fit Me concealer. And for my skin tone this particular shade do not hide my dark circles but it does a fabulous job of highlighting and that’s the reason I want to use it with their shade Light.

Everyone knows that I am a foundation hoarder and I love full coverage foundations even more and this concealer is a very natural looking full coverage concealers. It blends easily and does not crease at all. I have set this concealer under my eye with Anastasia Beverly Hills palette, my Inglot Translucent Powder and even with my Loreal Infallible Compact Powder and it worked great with all three.

In case you want to use this to hide acne or blemishes, I suggest it to apply with brush and not to use it directly because it can get contaminated with bacteria.

My Travel Diary

Honeymoon is one best time of your married life and no matter you travel whole world the memories of this trip never fade. We always heard that Honeymoon is the best time for husband and wife to get along with each other and now I realized it is an ultimate truth.
We got married on 27th Dec 2014 and we went to our honeymoon in February 2015. Why it took us whole month to go? Read full post to read 🙂

I always wanted to go to Umrah (a pilgrimage to Mecca) after my wedding. I wanted to go and thank ALLAH before starting a whole new life. I wanted to see ALLAH’s home with my husband for very first time. And Alhumdullilah my husband also wanted to start our live in same way. When you wish for good ALLAH always listen and fulfill. And for this I am so thankful to almighty.

So basically it was just an Umrah plan but my husband didn’t told me and planned whole trip that included Dubai and Thailand too..I obviously got excited because this was my first ever trip anywhere out from Pakistan.

Our whole trip was almost 15 days plan which started from February 6th to 22nd Feb. We took off from Karachi on 6th Feb 4AM in the morning reached Dubai at 5AM. My cousin in Dubai came to receive us and after meeting him and his brother n family we went to our hotel Delmon Palace. After Jumma Namaz we head towards Desert Safari. We were picked from Burjuman Mall and they took us to the desert. A 4WD vehicle takes you to the most thrill ride of your life called dune bashing. That was the only good thing of the whole day event. We also took a camel ride which was like the smallest camel ride ever. The day was followed by henna, belly dance and a barbeque dinner.. I have to admit this was the worst barbeque buffet I had in my entire life(*sigh*). Our 1st day in Dubai was ended with a sizzlers steak dinner with my cousin’s family at Yoko Sizzlers.

Travel Diary- DubaiDesertSafari

We decided to go and see Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and dancing fountain next day. We took Metro and reached Dubai Mall Metro Station.

Travel Diary- DubaiMallSo I had to stop at Sephora, Bath and body works and Inglot. Though I only shopped from Inglot. I purchased their translucent powder because that was the only thing I forgot to take with me.

Travel Diary- DubaiBurjKhalifaBy the time we were at Burj Khalifa our mobile batteries were dead and my back was in big big pain. I felt like lying on a floor for a while. I still don’t know the reason of that extreme pain. But still enjoyed every bit of the beautiful Dancing Fountain along with Starbucks Coffee.

And with this pain we went to JBR Walk. We reached back to the hotel and had dinner with one of our friend.

Next afternoon we took our flight to Thailand, Bangkok and reached there at 1AM, 9th Feb. We directly reached at  Ambassador Hotel. I was starving by that time and we had a dinner at one of the Indian Restaurant.

Next morning we decided to go to a city tour and we hired Tuk Tuk, their local rickshaw ;). The tuk tuk took us to the boat station. It was a complete sight seeing including two biggest temples in Bangkok Wat Arun and Wat Pho.

Travel Diary- ThailandBangkok1

Travel Diary- ThailandBangkok2The weather was too hot even in February. I never thought I will sweat this much. Thanks to my translucent powder I got from Dubai 😉 ..After the city tour we went to Platinum Mall in Pratunam Market. OMG Thailand is soo cheap to shop :D. I bought jeans, shoes, sunglasses, tights, skirt, shirts and one knee length dress and a bag ;).

Next evening on 10th Feb, we took a bus from Bangkok to Phuket . It was a way long journey and we both just slept. We reached Phuket on 11th morning and reached hotel Sunset Beach Resort. The receptionist asked us to wait till 12pm to check in. Meanwhile we ate at the hotel and planned our day. After getting fresh we got a Scooty 🙂 went to Phuket beach. I can’t explain my excitement whenever I see water.

We did Jet skiing. And not the para sailing because I am just to scared of heights 😉 and spent whole evening at the beach in water.
I remember how people were staring me wearing a hijab in water. But I felt good about myself that at least I didn’t took it off in water too Alhumdullilah.

Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket4We went to hotel and changed clothes and then spent the remaining night roaming on the roads on scooty. We went to Phuket market, had dinner then at a Pakistani restaurant owners from Sialkot :). The food and ambiance was very good.

Next morning on 13th we went to James Bond Island. The tour guide picked us from our hotel. There was another Indian couple from our hotel who went in our van. And met 2 Pakistani’s too from UK.

The trip started with a visit to a monkey temple at Phang Nga Pier and it was like an OKISH experience. But glad we left from there in 30 mins. Once we reached to the Pier we were asked to wear life jackets and were taken to the Koh Panyee in a traditional Thai long-tail boat. We had the best Halal Thai food there. I was so happy to see that the island is a Muslim island and i can enjoy everything in food there. Had the most yummilicious Thai soup of my life. Then we went to their market and yes I shopped again 😀

Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket1

After the lunch we went directly to the island. Island was so small and I was not expecting it to be this small. But I still love it. It was beautiful. After spending some time at the island we went for canoeing and sightseeing that makes the trip even more ahh-mazing…

What I missed was the snorkeling, fishing but just because of limited time we couldn’t go to any other island. This was our last full day in Phuket and next day we had to take our flight back to Bangkok.

Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket2

Coming back to hotel we freshen up and went for dinner at the Laimai Seafood Restaurant followed by desert at Hagen Daz, did some walk on sea shore. lid the lantern, yes!! i always wanted to do that 😀

Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket5

Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket3

Next day we decided to go for some sight seeing and do some fun activities. We had half day before our flight to Bangkok and we went to Tiger Kingdom, Go Kart, Shooting .
Travel Diary- ThailandPhuket6

We took our flight to Bangkok on 13 night. Valentine was about to begin and we both thought to go for a good Italian dinner at Little Italy  and then a walk. This was our last night in Bangkok and next morning we flew to Dubai for Jeddah and finally we reached Jeddah on 15th morning. I know our Thailand trip was very short but again it was never in plan. Our main plan and wish was to perform Umrah. By the time I reached Jeddah we were already in Ehram and the feeling of moving towards Makkah was beyond words.

Travel Diary-Umrah-MakkahMadina

After reaching Makkah we checkin to our Hotel Bakkah Arac Hotel. By this time we obviously wanted to rush to Haram and perform our Umrah. My heart beat was getting out of control and all I wanted to remember Dua’s at first glance of Kaaba’ .

This part i will probably not be able to write well because its just feelings and you don’t know how to explain. We performed two Umrahs and stayed 4 days in Makkah. We used to eat one time a day mostly and also tried AL-Tazaaj’s Mandi .We left for Madina on 19th Morning.
Madinaaaa… as described in all islamic verses and quotes, Madina is the most peaceful place of the world. You really find peace and relaxation. You love your prayers and enjoy them.We stayed 3 days in Madina. Also got a chance to eat the most raved food chain AL-Baik and no doubt the best broast ever. We  left Madina on 22 for Karachi,Pakistan.

I believe if you pray for something with your heart and soul, ALLAH always fulfill it. And the same happened to me. Alhumdulillah

If you guys liked my post and whole Honeymoon experience, say Ma sha ALLAH  and do share your Honeymoon memories in the comment below 🙂

Masarrat Misbah Silk Foundation-Almond(#MMMakeup)

You all know by now that I am a foundation freak. I absolutely love foundations and lately I am using one from Masarrat Misbah’s makeup range and I am completely in LOVEEEEE…

About the product This weightless liquid formula “tunes in” to you skin’s need, controlling oil where there is a shine and moisturize where it’s patchy for a long wearing balanced look, with true coverage.

Who is this for

For all skin types including normal to oily skin types, and anyone who wants a pure natural looking finish, with all-day wear.

TIP: For dry skin you must always prep your skin with moisturizer before applying any makeup.

My View

Ever since I have come from Masarrat Misbah’s makeup launch I am only talking about it on my Instagram, Facebook page, Twitter, in my friends circle. I have already talked about the launch here and also showed a sneak peak of my Goodie Bag here.

As I mentioned in my previous post that Masarrat Misbah makeup is purely Halal and they are also officially certified. And this makes this product even more good. They have named it as SILK FOUNDATION, which means it blends easily. They come in 12 shades and I got shade Almond. Btw, I never thought that this shade can be a perfect one for my skin. I am nc20-25 in Mac Prolong wear foundation and with that comparison the shade is quite dark but this brand has something in their formula that this shade worked like an exact match on me without being oxidize much. I did oxidize but it didn’t give me a tan look.

Scroll down to see how it looked on my face

The foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation and got a good creamy consistency. Even though its a thick foundation it blends easily with fingers too. I have to confess that even Revlon Color Stay do not blend with fingers. According to the description; this foundation is perfect for normal to oily skin but I say its perfect for my dry and sensitive skin. Its a complete matte foundation on me but I have heard its a good dewy one for the ones who have normal skin. The staying power of the foundation is also very impressive. I have wore this foundation for maximum 6 hours and it didn’t fade neither got cracky.

How to use

When Nighat Misbah was doing my makeover she suggested to use it with finger tips. And for my dry skin she advised to use it with a moisturizer to give a glowey look. So when I use it  I always do following steps

  • Apply my Bioderma Atoderm Cream for dry and sensitive skin.
  • Take just one pump of foundation on back of my hand.
  • Start applying gently with my finger tips starting from under eyes to cheeks and to whole face.
  • Dust a tiny amount of Translucent powder under my eyes to set the foundation in my fine lines and tada its done !!

That one pump is enough for the full face application but if you are using it with a brush or sponge you would need little more but trust me use your fingers to get a airbrushed finish. Shade matching can be bit difficult with this foundation at the moment but if you live in Karachi or Lahore visit any Depilex branch and the experts their will guide you what shade you should buy. You can also try there to match the shade with your skin tone. At the event we were also told that the whole makeup range is made keeping Asian skin tones in mind. So for me it was like a cherry on the top. You can purchase the entire makeup range at their official website MasarratMakeup or visit the Depilex. The price of Silk Foundation is Rs 1100/=

You may like

  • The price is very affordable.
  • Its a medium to full coverage foundation.
  • Do not look cakey or patchy.
  • Easy to blend with fingers.
  • Specially made for Asian skin tones.
  • Good shade range.
  • Hides blemishes and imperfections too.
  • Lasting power is strong

You may not like

  • Shade matching. You need an assistance of expert to get the right shade.

I absolutely love everything about this foundation and highly suggest to everyone. Do share with me how do you like my review and if you have tried this foundation then do write about your experience too. And Yes!! in the end, Thankyou everyone for your love. Nida’s Beauty Bag has hit 11k likes recently and I am over the moon right now.
